Eh, to be honest, for this type of story, I appreciate that the Prince brat decide to deal with it mano at mano. In too many stories the "hero" or whatever will either deny all and escape responsabilities or try to deal with the protag with less honorable way. At least here, it's a duel, 1v1, no trick no bullshit.

Well, I suppose he will have his ass kicked hard, but hey.

I feel like the prince should have already admitted to himself he was wrong, given what we saw of him the last few times. I think this is just to solidify it in his mind and he's putting on a brave face.

No matter how good or bad this is dealt with, never forget that MC was braindead for years before story started and abandoned his friends to do "work" that nobody expected of him that gained him nothing because author bullshit reasons.

Prince is about to get rolled, I hope he changes after the fact rather than doubling down on his bullshit like every other villain in these types of stories

Thanks for the translation!
A "group" who shall not be named put out a terrible version of this chapter, so it's nice to be able to actually understand what's been said.

Honestly when the prince is still this young and THIS much of a spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum at the very thought of listening to others, I feel like more fault lies in his parents, the people charged with his education, and to an extent the MC. Like at a certain point you just need to tell a kid no, sit them down, and sternly explain why their entire manner of thinking is wrong or if that doesn’t work put them on their ass and beat humility into them. Either way it shouldn’t get to this point.

I could even see a plot line about how some evil advisor had taken advantage of and was using the prince for his own gain at this rate with how immature his thinking is and easy he is to manipulate.

M@ng@cl@sh more chapters are uploaded there
No :)

For the chapter itself, I can see where the prince is coming from. Having your way of life suddenly challenged can be pretty hard for anybody. Though, he's still quite young and needs experience. Maybe he can change for the better a̶f̶t̶e̶r̶ g̶e̶t̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ h̶i̶s̶ a̶s̶s̶ b̶e̶a̶t̶.

Thank you for the chapter! But this fight is a bit unfair, don't you think? As far as the prince thinks, MC is only good for support buffs and him knowing combat would be pointless. Imagine if the MC was like a priest or something. A 1v1 fight isn't the most ideal way to settle "I'm right, you're wrong" if he thinks he's fighting a support. At least in this situation it doesn't seem like it'll end poorly but still.

My editor just informed me of this release. I have no idea how the translation fails to be consistent with itself. For a moment, I thought I was going to have to drop the series.

The prince is 100% clear that the guy is a genius. This entire chapter is him almost literally begging to be served humble pie. Next chapter really drives home this point.

yeah, it's almost like it's an actual, but incorrect, belief that was instilled in him by the adults around him growing up and not just an excuse he randomly came up with to be a shitty person and get a harem (as per usual). That it's time to grapple with the fact that everything he was raised to believe was a lie. Imagine that.

Yeah, most stories just have the hero be an asshole without the 'why' of it all. In this case, it's not just the prince that's at fault, it's all the nobles that taught him to think this. So, this part of the story isn't really about getting back at the prince so much as it's about that belief being broken.
