The weird thing to me, as happens a lot in this... genre? Fandom? ...is that it seems just as likely accidental (or at least, taken next to all the other things in the same story, "my dream is to wear a girl's uniform on the way to school" parses at least as easily as the protagonist senselessly objectifying themselves as a cross-dressing fantasy object for the viewers, rather than the artist having thought through what their internal worldview would be for them to hold that as a dear wish).

Not disagreeing with you about the result, though.
