I twisted the scenario a bit to fit the joke but I' talking about the FL of "When I Returned to My Hometown, My Childhood Friend Was Broken.
It's not that I hate the production but the FMC is crazy she was SA'd and became a collage dorm slut from what people say I hope she really didn't tho because there was no info from the author and also who would do those things after being SA'd like bruh that would make her character so disgisting

so... my guess is that she was SA by someone, possibly a stalker or even a family member for her being so perfect at everything and her friendship with him is the only thing keeping her sane and "well", he will find out eventually, some conflict with happen, they will talk, realise they love each other, marry and have 2 kids
thats odly specific😭🙏

I think its more likely that he rescued her from the situation that resulted in her no longer showing her right eye. House fire probably.
It looks to me like she has a fear of abandonment so I'm going to guess that her family situation got worse, like a divorce, and from the cover art, the bruise on her covered eye could mean that the parent she got stuck with is physically abusing her, and the reason why she hides it could be so she can stay with the MC, because if it becomes known that she is abused, there's a chance that child protective services could get involved and she'll be forced to move. That's my penny.

Looks like more of a fear of being abandoned. My guess is that due to her popularity, some "friends" got jealous of her and started bullying her. Started off small at first, a rude remark here , a little shove there, just trying to get some frustration out, til they were all out picking on here, call her names, spreading bad rumors and gradually started hanging out with her less and less till they just never talked to her again. All the while she thought something was wrong with her and was doing her best to try and please them to get them to stay.

Well, I guess te most likely scenario was already mentioned, but I hope its something different. Maybe even something simple like her listenting to his friends group, where he denied dating her something similar.

I can't say I'm the biggest fan of girl failures but I get why they're considered cute

I have a feeling her fear of abandonment must've come from some trauma. Like falling out with her friends or being unable to or something:meguuusad:

she's not strong enough to play downer mesugaki

i didn't even know that was a thing until this, and now I'm remorseful that she has yet to achieve what will probably be greatness

we love well adjusted women !!! lets work towards having a balanced power dynamic !!!
[ningen] will take every opportunity to speak French at me

(that was a joke-- I also would rather she be less severely anaclitic)

I don’t think she’s at the menhera stage yet - she’s not barricading him in her room, or going through his phone demanding that he purge the female contacts out or anything like that. Menhera requires a certain level of selfishness, and I don’t see that thus far.
To be fair, both "menhera" and "yandere" are inherently selfish archetypes (or... "dispositions", if we're talking about them in real life).

It's just that the bombastic instability and declarations of devotion for the object of their affections, oftentimes obfuscates the fact that said object of the yandere's affection is in fact treated as an "object" and not a whole person to be respected. It's why they're willing to do things like trapping them for whatever reasons without their consent, or why they may harm/kill them in retaliation for their insecurities, or harm themselves in order to manipulate them (or otherwise act out deeply felt emotions/delusions at the expense of their object of affection).

I reckon that a considerable distinguisher is the overt devotion to the object of affection, more than devotion to the goal of not being left alone-- the "menhera" archetype involves more overt selfishness and neediness, but their goal is more so to not be lonely.

I hope it's not SA because that's been a part of everything I've been reading recently, i hope it's something more original but equally as bad
I'm also sick of SA always being the backstory of every sad backstory. There are a LOT of different things that can change or traumatize people. SA is just a cheap method now and kind of shows that you're just not creative if you use SA as a backstory reason.
