The males act as impollinators for some plants. Plus, with their numbers, they're a food source for many amphibians and benevolent bugs.

Unfortunately, nature is a fucking machine who needs all of its pieces, even the smallest and most annoying ones.
Ehh, that has been labbed to hell and back and as it turns out, mosquitoes are pretty damn replaceable. Remember, even if some organism performs a function, that doesn't mean they are the only ones performing it or critical. By default, they are competing with others for the job.

And yes, we know this because we have (possibly way too) extensively planned for the total mosquito genocide. Sadly nobody has pushed the button, yet.

Nah, fuck mosquitos.

I'm willing to compromise on ONLY the eradication of species that fall into one of three categories
A. bite humans(obviously)
B. spread canine heartworms(I like dogs)
C. are from Australia(all australian wildlife is some sort of horrific abomination)

Shocked this wasn't a horny one.

No it's not. You can tell, because species go extinct all the time. Mosquitos in particular may be tricky to get rid of without harm, but there are definitely parasites today we could do without. There would be no downside to eradicating bedbugs, for example.

We are on the verge of eradicating the guinea worm.

Fun fact: EPA have both supported the mass suppression of mosquito populations. There’s even biologists who advocated the extinction of certain species of mosquitoes, the ones with the highest death count.

Why guillotine an insect? Just remove their exoskeleton plate by plate instead

Does this mean Mosquitoes are French?

Also time to go off the ways to kill Mosquitoes list, this is day 1
No because the French are the ones who do the guillotining, not the opposite
