I think he's shortsighted getting so hung up on making money. The moment this shows up and proves its worth you should start planning for the maximum use of these items and the chance others will be doing the same. Assume your going to be competing with a new type of person as a result of this app and that society may change greatly or collapse.

He's stuck at the idea of money which should just be a stepping stone to whatever power and potential the shop offers.
