The middle 80 chapters or so are frustrating and unsatisfying. There's nothing genuinely funny after the first 15-20 chapters or so but the comedy is dragged along lifelessly with stupid gags till almost the very end in a way that doesn't really fit the tone of the story.
Plot and premise are so promising but there's very little character development and the story is frustratingly vague and mysterious for no real reason until the very end. Even then, the ending is not very satisfying or well-explained. You can see there's a lot of potential here but it feels like it's squandered. Feels worse to read than your average slop since you can tell it could have been great but falls short.
