I wonder if we are going all in on the existential dread?

Like, who is to say that the world won't end anyway even IF they get a happy ending?

After all, a game's ending is the credits... :notlikethis:
Ah, but I think it's more insidious. It's not that the world ends if Hareta fails--rather, it restarts.

Maybe they're really looking for a way to escape an eternal cycle of repetition. Maybe they want the world to end.

Plssssss this time misaki tries confessing instead of hareta but the world’s like “nah”. I’m gonna go insane.

It’s so tragic especially with misaki’s love sickness earlier where he now acknowledges his own feelings aaaaaaaaaaa this is the saddest silly romance I’ve read

Thanks for the chapter!

Misaki confessed to Hareta, but the game doesn't allow that so now Misaki is back to putting everything into getting Hareta together with one of the girls in order to get a happy ending for him.

Well, the difference from the previous times something like this happened is that Misaki was the one initiating

Only for the world to remind him, and so…

It's stupid but understandable, Misaki tried, more than a couple of tries to be happy too but the game is against it, but I'm saying this is stupid because "oh no, the heroines need to be saved! I can't get in the way!" Misaki.... HE CAN ONLY CHOOSE FUCKING ONE! the others will be doomed anyway no matter what!

I thought of a loophole but Hareta might not accept it... What if he picks one girl and then they immediately break up right after? because I don't think there's a rule for staying "happily ever after" but still it requires a fake confession and the girls like him too so it would hurt.
Misaki is not willing to let down the two remaining girls (even if not one is likely to be chosen). I have the feeling he himself will step up (or well, try) to catch one of the two, most likely Mei. I mean, she seems to like him more than she likes Hareta.

One thing i really do hate is that misaki is kind of forcing hareta to like the other girls when he has no obligation to feel that way for them, it is a game so it's his personality,

Weirdly well done encapsulation of a homosexual's struggles to fit into their world by staying inside the closet. Overtly, sexuality isn't much of an issue for the characters themselves but "the way the world has to be" is analogous to repressed sexuality here for Misaki and thus we actually get to see those once taboo themes play out straightforwardly and in a heartbreakingly sincere tone. I mean the series has impressed me before but how exactly am I supposed to recommend this trap inverse romcom story for its thematic elements and not get looked at like I suddenly turned into a literal fruitcake?
