maybe... but this game world theme is Galge (basically game about dating girls) , not Otome,Yuri or BL game . . . must likely happen is Misaki suddenly become girls in this world (gender bender) . . . this manga follow of Galge Rules. btw Protagonist true Rival in this series is one of heroine (Gal heroine) . .

Nietzsche would unironically be proud of Protagonist-Kun, motherfucker doesn't care about how the world works, he's going to make it bend. ALL FOR THAT BUSSY!

Oh my God I was not expecting this to turn into a metaphor for gay men dealing with society's heteronormative expectations

I'm becoming more and more convinced that this is just an allegory to modern society and how you can't "become something/one more" than the labels you were assigned. Oh well, I think I'm just overthinking:bleh:.

edit: ok so I made this comment after reading page 8 and there is no way this isn't an allegory.

You know, for someone who doesn't want to be the main character he really has main character aura and lines
And for someone who doesn't want to be a stepping stone for the main character, the rival sure played the role of a stepping stone for the main character this chapter

So like, is this just going to be an allegory for societal roles? Thats kinda boring. :fml: No exploration of the inner workings of the world? Idk, it feels... lazy? Not sure if that's the right word, but you get what I mean, right?

Hopefully the manga actually explores the inner workings of this world in future chapters, and it isn't just replacing societal roles with romcom ones. It's kinda lame to make this manga just an equivalent of "we live in a society."

The moral itself isn't bad, it's just common. Maybe it'll get more fleshed out, probably hopefully maybe idk.

It's probably still too early to be making these judgements tho, so I'll let the mangaka cook a bit more before coming to a definitive conclusion.

As for the rival character, I think he's neat. An alright subversion of the trope, I suppose. Not much to say on this end.
