I'm glad we're finally getting to see Konishikawa be good at the finer points of his job. Even if it's been played off as his "demotion" role after having previously been a hot-shot, I find it hard to believe he'd end up in that high of a position without the appropriate skills. We're also getting a better view of his positive qualities that caused Misato to fall for him in the first place. Good chapter, thanks for the TL.

Good old japanese conformity culture takes another victim.

Oh what's that? You have troubles with your job? Feeling like life is unfair? Is it affecting your mental health?

Well get fucked bitch, now sit down and keep clicking away at your keyboard like a good little work slave. Don't you fucking DARE call out the group for their sins, less you destroy the glory that is the unity of the group.

Just hold it all in, keep it silent for the rest of your life, don't ask questions, don't complain, and do your job.

The reward for your loyalty will be a solo trip to the forest at night when you can't hold your troubles any longer.

I honestly like this chapter than the one's that progress the romance main plot. Just a boss legitimately caring about his subordinate and helping said subordinate grow through past trauma at a former job and someone needs to because that former job supervisor behavior is completely unacceptable; feeling bad because an ass didn't want to train you and then stole your iniative hard work after insulting you for bothering is insane. It's not even smart. That supervisor could've praised Kida's work, made some excuse about passing it along as his own, and then kept Kida around to keep stealing ideas. Or you know, kept Kida around to keep doing good work that HELPS THE COMPANY THEY BOTH WORK FOR AND ITS GOALS. Instead he got rid of a talent. Heck, whose the old supervisor even going to steal ideas from now? This is just that old job's failure and loss.

It's cool to see Konishikawa be so attentive to his work, Minato and his subordinates. She hasn't even finished her sentence and he was on it.

Huh, so that's why Kida acts like that. I am fortunate to haven't experienced such work environments but that would probably the air in my sails as well.

Had the opportunity to work with someone like Konishikawa. Though the job (and the KPI from the upper management) sucks, at least those kind of mentorship and guidance helped me to get through my work. The whole team including my manager get laid off in the end though.

This is why I don't work well in many workplaces. I can't be a doormat.
In labor industries, it can get people killed. In finance you can be held legally liable. In retail, it can drive people to suicide.

If you don't have a code of ethics that you're willing to enforce people will suffer. Even if it's taken out of your hands, you can choose to walk away. As the saying goes, "With a gun to your head, you can always choose to die"

Just make sure to make a display of it so there's no doubt you've washed your hands of it. Raise your voice, project it, be absolute. Be wary though, make sure you also know how to throw down. Challenging authority always comes with risk.
