Also, I wonder if the doctor has placed some sort of kill switch in the MC? The doctor also doesn't seem to be totally pleased with how things are playing out, so I wonder if she's going to fight back at some point? Though that may only happen after the empire is destroyed.

There was that one time she got hit by a cannon shell and died but stayed intact, so it's hard to say if regular people could dismember her fast enough to get it done before she resurrects and curses them all to death. And then the separate parts are STILL likely to curse everyone around them to death when she does wake up.

Got prolly contracted to cover vol 1 as a LN ad and then judged if it was popular enough to continue.
If you see a ln adaption end at around volume 4 of death, this most likely was the case from the start.
