When I first started reading and Sou made a big deal about Touma not having a phone, I thought for sure Adachi was going to tease us with a moment like in Touch where no one can get ahold of Touma before a game (like how Kazuya was missing 😭😭) and I wonder if that's still going to happen

Notably, Haruka doesn't have a phone, too, so I don't think that Adachi is going to play this card here - I suspect he just doesn't want to bother with modern technologies and yearns for simpler times. There'd be a certain scene in a couple of chapters where he outright bashes modern stuff like QR codes.
