Kinda wish this chapter was in color so we can tell when the tentacles turning red. Around Mizuda’s final Darin (starting from: “Here I go”) there are steam around the tentacles, so presumably they are red by then.


As an aside:
I know the author probably didn’t think too hard on this. However, other than his sick classmate, his other 3 competitors in that running race looked like jacked up adults, complete with the lack of hair. This is assuming 5-2 refers to class 2 on 5th grade.
