wow. reading this was very informative! its the same as the shirosawa's other work (mitsuishi): it is the diary of a man losing his mind mid-publication. it starts with a premise, it sticks to a plot for a minute, it hints at more plot past that, the author goes off the rails.

Don't know why Mangadex says that there are 55 total chapters.

It's because the group that did translate volume 2-4 got deleted, and their translations did too. Or something like that.

I remember seeing the chapters there about a year ago until it just one day disappeared.

I think this guy had a genuine psychotic break and was institutionalized. His last few posts for his other series/in general were around Feb 2025, and he's been radio silent ever since. Gonzo manga et al isn't anything too out of the ordinary, but given the hard turn this took past like chapter 37/38, it would not shock me if brother was going through it at the time.
