It feels like the story has him neglecting his new summon to make her feel inferior. Sure, probably don't want to mix in a new element for an advancement test, but it straight up feels like he's ignoring her after summoning her. Definitely could have had her lead some of the easier battles and support her if needed to get an idea on her abilities and how to incorporate her later.

Well, its more like even when Renka becomes Rank B Kichijōten, she still maintains her Zashiki-warashi form when not in battle, but during battle she turns to her Kichijōten form without needing to trigger Spiritual Recursion.
