So I took a look at the novel, and

HE is not the problem lol, SHE IS. He legitimately raised her like a daughter or little sister, but she's having none of it.
Girl know what she wants and will take no objections, be they from the MC, the church, or royalty lol.

For example, at age 15/16, when back from school for summer break, she magically puts him to sleep after he argues she can't sleep with him. So she knocks him out, then gives him hickeys because she's jealous that the head of the church is trying to marry MC off because he noticed she likes MC; plus he stayed overnight with an old, female, friend, in the same tent.

She's terrifying lol, but like, it's funny so...
Ah, I see, it's another of those "she's cute so it's not a crime " situations lol. Oh well, a girl has needs I guess?

It says it’s been ten years since he was reborn into this world, and he entered as a baby, is he ten years old?? Or is it some sort of mistranslation? He looks at least in his mid to late teens

Gatekeeping has been in such a rapid decline the last decade that garbage secondaries like this just tour around looking for things to hate. Get out of my yard and stay in yours.

Also, grooming is not the same as genuinely caring for someone; if you're getting mixed up at that point then you're the one who needs to get their shit sorted.

This manga is similar to "If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord", but Isekai. Her loli form won't be here for too long.
Well i actually like that novel quite a lot, and it does have "justification" being that she's a demon and other. But this manga tho, i still will read the next chapter but won't have high expectations

I'm genuinely curious how long it takes for an anti to give up and stop commenting their virtue signals.

Do you just keep typing this stuff no matter what, get used to it, or do you leave the genre eventually?

I'm not being mean or sarcastic. At this point it's pure morbid curiosity. They say insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Could it be that continuing to read Japanese comics, especially those of the isekai genre, but expecting Discord-compliant safe spaces in their world building is a type of insanity?

not really, mc is a dense, and only sees her as a daughter/little sister. But that doesn't stop her. She becomes more aggressive once puberty starts/when she goes to the academy.
I mean if he eventually reciprocates he'd still be the asshole, right?

All y’all westoids reeing, crying, and screaming but this is a classic trope in Japanese literature that’s existed since before most of your countries even took shape.

It started from Murasaki Shikibu, a lady-in-waiting of Empress Shoushi of the Heian era. She wrote one of the first novels in the world, during the Heian period at the start of the 11th century, The Tale of Genji, which featured the titular main character, Prince Hikaru Genji taking care of a young girl and teaching her until she became an adult, at which point they wed.

Now, distasteful as this may seem to all of you whining troglodytes, there is a massive cultural difference here, and this isn’t seen nearly as negatively in Japanese literature or media as is seen by westoids. This is also mostly exclusive to literature or media; Japanese people are not grooming young girls into becoming idealized brides any more than westerners are.

So stop being bitches about ‘grooming this’ and ‘grooming that.’ In these stories, the girls have their own agency, and choose to fall in love of their own will. The Tale of Genji itself was written by a woman, and the novel was very popular amongst courtiers of the Heian regardless of sex, the men and the women. You’re all dismissing that for some women, being raised by a benevolent father figure and falling in love with said father figure is a fantasy of theirs, as well.

🫩 Dawg, it's not grooming, the problem is that these authors usually have them end up being together at the end, and even if they don't end up together it's still weird, like you said it's the girls FANTASY, it's a weird fucking fantasy. a whole essay just to say you enjoy father and daughter romance

The MC is 18, the FL is 10. Eight years difference.
Thanks for the clarification. It also occurred to me that this also depends on how you do the math. If you add his Earth age to his isekai age, he's probably over 40.

That's... not good.

If you talk about agency in a grooming situation, you don't understand what grooming is.

EDIT: I'm amused by the negative reactions I'm getting. Apparently, there are quite a few people who think children -- who are biologically incapable of anything resembling actual agency -- can make free, informed choices concerning relationships with an inherently imbalanced power dynamic. While young men and women are free to fall in "love" with whomever they wish, adults (who are supposed to care about them) should understand the skewed environment that fostered these feelings.

It's the same rationale for why it's a violation of professional ethics for doctors to date their patients.

All y'all wise guys crying about people being little bitches about literary tropes. Stop your bitchin about the bitchin. Bitchin has been around since the first dude in the planet met the second dude in the planet. In fact, this very post is me bitching about people bitching about the bitching other bitches bitch about. So stop.

It's stupid to tell others to not criticize art, media, literature, or whatever. And yeah, social norms and cultural beliefs vary by region, time frame, and nationality. Doesn't mean it's right to silence those that have issues and post said issues in a space that is meant to be used to comment on the work of art in question. It's like saying, I don't like your opinion in this piece, so I want you to stop. WTF is that? You don't like a post? Ignore it, or reply back with a bitchy statement of your own. Them's the rules. None of us were born yesterday, and if there is a one day old baby posting here, what are you doing junior? You're too young to ruin your life by reading crappy manga.

Does that actually happen? Because if so, I believe grooming would be the least of his problems in that situation, especially if he really doesn't feel any actual sexual attraction to her. Even, then, there ARE choices, even if they don't lead to favorable outcomes.
