@Xeredge she’s not the only one though. A father that can support his family financially but not emotionally is only doing half of what a father should do and a 50% is considered a failing grade

@Flavor25 which is pretty much the case for every father (and mothers as well) in Japan due to how fucked up the workload is on that country. But hey, atleast the father knew his shortcomings.

@givemersspls the announcement was fairly recent; in the end panel of ch. 30, released on Aug 28. They might of said something before that on twitter earlier, but either way it was recent. However a lot of these decisions are made well before the public announcement, so that doesn't mean much. Oftentimes manga end dates are based around volumes, so when they got close to finishing volume 3, i.e. around ch 24 since it is 8 ch per volume, they may have decided to end it with volume 4, i.e. ch 32. That is just speculation on my part, but it does sort of align with the increased pace after ch 21. No way to know for sure though unless the author says something, which is unlikely since they wanna keep getting published.

@mirewitch It would not surprise me if this was actually the case. It's pretty standard industry practice. I noticed a jump in the pacing around ch. 19 (when we're introduced to Saotome's mother) which also happens to be the last chapter of vol. 2. Ch. 20-32 will most likely be compiled into 1 volume.

@kuachi Oh yeah, you're right. Volume 1 was 8 chapters so I assumed it would be 32/8=4 volumes, but I've been reading the raws on ganma so I didn't look at Vol 2's length until just now. Given volume 2 goes til chapter 19, and the known end chapter is 32, it makes way more sense for it to be 3 volumes, with vol 3 being 12 chapters. I agree that lines up well with the increase in pacing, though personally I was fine with the pacing of 19/20 to introduce saotome's mother. For me the pacing issues really started with chapter 21 with Reika blurting out everything, Saotome storming off, and dad showing up out of nowhere to give exposition all within like 7 pages of each other. But either way the speed clearly kicked up with volume 3. Thanks for translating all this; I'm excited to ride this roller coaster of a manga all the way to the ending.

Wow. Dude. There is heavy and THIS chapter. If we all thought that the model lady had some dark history or whatever then kaoru just threw her out of the throne!!

Ending at Chapter 32?! Honestly, I felt like the story was just getting started. Welp, I'm looking forward to everyone revealing their secrets and true feelings to each other.

Apparently this story us pretty similar to a friend of mine who's apparently an orphan from when she was very young, her family left her in the orphanage, she was then picked up by 2 different family in different occasions, however due to 1 of them being really bad, I could say that she now has traumas of getting left behind by others, especially when it comes to parential figures leaving her, leading to her be extremely against abortion and related topic etc.
