that being said, I also agree that we need a tag for romances that fall between the commom gay, lesbian and straight Ones
i’d recommend a simple “queer romance” tag for these. Even if just to start.

its these niche scenarios that i find more specific tags like from tracking sites to be helpful in distinctly categorizing what kind of story this is, even if the tag system is supposed to be for generalizing manga at a glance

all actual transgender stories have to resort to tags such as "Gender Bender" or "Crossdressing" when its neither, so the waters get muddied if one wants to find stories with that as its topic

can i see this as bad rep? yeah, its pretty crass
was that the authors intention? probably not! they probably just wanted to write your avg cute crossdresser x woman manga 💀

Crossdressing tag together with the cover art and summary description make it clear what the reader can expect moreso than yuri tag. Both main characters might be questioning so who really knows how it will develop. Author-san could even be flexible on that depending on reception and $$$. Visually, it has a strong yuri vibe so I wouldn't mind it having a GL tag, but I can see that being misleading. Whether the crossdresser ultimately identifies as trans or a femboy is not going to impact my enjoyment of the series. Wondering about that can actually be part of the dramatic appeal in longer running series like Prunus Girl, and Turned My Childhood Friend into a Girl. Most series like that seem to be B/? rather than G/? so it's great to see the latter for a change.

When I transitioned one thing neither my girlfriend or I expected is how in to trans women she would be. They later came out as nonbinary, and playing with gender has been very spicy for both of us. 💕

People getting all butthurt over a fairly lighthearted take on gender bending is a result of their own sexism and or transphobia. I'm sure there are plenty of gender conforming manga out there to comfort then. They can also go make friends with famed author jk Rowling. Cause they are making the same stupid arguments.

I really feel like the normal reaction to this manga is "Oh hey a new take on cross-dressing romance where it's clear to both people involved the intentions and backgrounds of each other". I feel like a twitter reaction is "I'm going to threaten the mangaka and the translators with death for interacting with the concepts of gender in a way I have chosen to read as political statements on transgender rights. Also this situation where neither person is lying to the other and both are consenting is rape."
