Definitely much better handled than the first chapter. In the first his misunderstanding and 'obliviousness' was too stupid to be understandable, but in this chapter anyone would have misunderstood and been frankly perturbed by their interaction.
Hopefully more of this, and less of the MMC being a complete moron.

Okay, that were funny ways to mess up. She even logically concludes that they would start dating after that.

I think some of the lines are lost in translation though. It looks like she's supposed to be saying the right lines, but it just sounds different with the way she's saying them. It's funnier that way. I think the translations may be saying exactly how they are misinterpreted.
