Holy shit she is best girl 100%

nothing is better than a thirsty gf, Too bad she's not the main girl (unless the manga has a surprice harem ending)

Now imma ask something and I'm not sure how I'll prepare for so just prepare.

Is the author list bad at making compelling male characters or something? Like it's filled with female leads and characters but not off the top of my head can I recall any substantial male characters or really any for that matter, the author doesn't seem one to go for a ntr type deal from what I've seen here. So I can only guess maybe they have no confidence in making a good male character for the other female leads or maybe I'll just hae to wait and see

But i swear to god if best girl tsubaki-chan doesn't end up happy with a partner of their choice I'll make Hiroshima and Nagasaki look like a pebble dropped.

@The_qwerty It's standard shounen writing. Make the male lead as bland and ineffectual as possible so that he may be easily replaced for self-insert fantasies.

I'd say its more a trope of the Harem Genre itself then to call it 'standard shounen writing'.

@The_qwerty

Like Kevadu said, the MCs is designed so they are 'generic' and easy for the reader to project themselves onto them. Since this is a 'Ecchi Harem' story, the girls are just meant to 'fawn' over the replaceable MC so other strong male characters are absent by design.

Now granted, I too would like to see all the Girls end up happy (and agree that Tsubaki is best Girl) but that's the norm for this kind of story so I'm not gonna be surprised if it doesn't happen. Though the author already deviated from the norm with having the MC and Mone already be a thing...... which is kinda sad for the other girls since that means by design they don't have a chance and makes the harem shenanigans pointless, like why bother self inserting yourself with your favorite girl if she's gonna end up losing anyway.

I just don't see why you'd set them up to fail unless you plan to have them fall for someone else or have the 1st girl actually lose....... which we're more then half way through the entire story and the author hasn't done anything to make me think either of those things will actually happen.

I only skimmed the chapter, but judging by the comments and what I saw, the author went right back to giving major spotlight time to the Mob Squad. Mone-san showed up in only five panels, and one of them was just her head in chibi form. I just can't understand this guy.

I really can't: I visited his Twitter, in the past, and saw a tweet that indicates he's a fan of exactly the kind of girl Mone-san is. So why bastardize your own manga about such an ideal girl (rare as it is for having such a girl as the lead) with that much fixation on mobs whose (inferior) character traits are the spotlight of countless manga aside from this one?

EDIT: Just read it. The chapter was full of blatant contrivance (e.g., the treasure hunt, the gust of wind); special note goes to Haruta, who went from Mr. Boombastic in the previous chapter to your average, spineless, milquetoast Japanese male MC who--when he's in front of a girl--can't tell her "no" or remember he's already got a girlfriend under any circumstances.
