satome ate peaches, so peaches are safe, and mandarins are poisoned, right?

Another likeable character dies. Soon we'll be left with asshats.

That said, the author didn't even mention how sealed cans could be tampered with and poisoned in the chapters leading to this. Neither is there a reason why one of the two flavours of canned fruit is dangerous. They say that there wasn't time for both flavours to be poisoned, but why? Why is there enough time to poison all the cans of the same flavour? Why was there enough time to poison more than one can? Why would the monkey poison all of the same flavour rather than randomly?

Also, Saotome is the target of some supernatural joke. Dying people keep telling him to smile for some reason.

Murder/Mystery writing can get pretty bad, I just try to gloss over plot holes like why only mandarins are poisoned and how a monkey would even know how to poison a sealed can, let alone understand the complexity of a prolonged war of attrition. I really hope the author became more capable in the next 10 volumes because I think I've followed for too long to quit now. Thanks for the translation, I appreciate the good work so far.

Did anybody else read it as the president making a really bad practical joke and faking being poisoned on the first pass? -_-

I hope the end result will be 'It's all supernatural!' or something equally narratively powerful because then everything gets handwaved away and we can all bin it in disgust at the escape. Otherwise, writing yourself out of this much nonsense is going to be an interesting exercise.

If they're going to test for poison, they should test the water first since that's probably more important? Well I guess they get the canned fruit (peach) juice now.

Possible excuses for the plot holes:
- Only mandarins poisoned because cans were stored in separate boxes and monkey only got to mess with 1 box. Monkey escaped through the window last chapter when everyone came because it didn't want close combat range inside the cabin.
- Poison on the outside of the can which got in when you open it. Or poison on some of the forks.
- Mandarins aren't even poisoned and boss coughed like crazy because he has an arrow in his torso and choked on the mandarin.

Idk man I'm just here to see people die to a monkey tbh

The president was already dying, what if he just happened to have died while eating? What if they were never poisoned this whole time

@Damoon Yes. Peach cans are safe, mandarin ones are poisoned.

@Okuu My guess is that the cans were separated into different boxes.

@tomdc Hm... Yeah, water.

@SpookyCheeseburger President grabbed Saotome's shirt collar, indicating that he had problem with his respiratory system. If it wasn't, he would have clarified otherwise.

I would have laughed if after all that talk and back-and-forth bickering they didn't find a can opener 😄

Okay so several things:
1. Who gave this monkey cyanide i was open to the idea about bows knives because those are tools even if the bow is a stretch
2. How did this monkey poison a can without any signs of tampering hell its a can for christ sake not a packaged good
3. Why not simply remove all the food toss it off the cliff poison is a very human thing to do
4. Seriously where the fuck did a monkey get cyanide ill honestly be surprised if that thing somehow is a monkey

@Sumgui it's obviously not an actual monkey. It's either some kind of supernatural creature or someone pretending to be one. I might be wrong, but I don't think the author has ever tried to portray it as just a regular monkey

Would have been easier for the monkey to just throw it all out lol with his strength he could have even killed someone by throwing canned food at their head
