I like the turn this took, it has been hinting at an overarching plot for quite a long time, but kept on doing cliche romcom stuff instead of actually advancing plot, continuously annoying me with no payoff, until the last few chapters.
Did art kinda worsen (see proportions on page 10, for example) in last two chapters or it was just too long since previous ones and it always was like this?
@feha
The romcom side of this was necessary to bring characters closer. the bits and pieces they showed were our way to see shit was going to hit the fan sooner or later.
@alidan I know, but it also was unecessary, as it wasn't the kind of arc where readers develop any emotional attachment to any of the characters (I kinda feel like it somewhat wanted that to happen, but if so it definitely failed). Meaning it could just as well have been replaced by a timeskip, or shortened to a single chapter or 2 that read more like a summary.
I feel like the weight lay more in the teasing/foreshadowing to raise tension for the sake of this climax, which would explain why the emotional attachment component fell to the wayside (to the point where I only remember mc, fmc, and to a lesser extent super maid and girl slated to become a love rival. Might have been a sister too?).
