Should add a yaoi genre to this. I know what is up here. The anime opening was great, shame it is a bit too gay for my taste

Sadly, they just had to insert that unnecessary fanservice and wreck the anime; the actual manga doesn't have much of the BL-undertones and is really more about friendships and responsibilities and the like.

This series has a slightly complicated demographic tag situation. It was originally published in Comic Blade Masamune, a shounen magazine. This was replaced by Comic Avarus, a shoujo magazine, right in the middle of various ongoing series. They decided to just run the rest of some of those in there anyway. So, shoujo but not shoujo?

Those "BL-undertones" in the anime were likely meant to appeal to the magazine's new target demographic I guess. Kind of a dick move though. A lot of shounen readers would see that anime come out and never try the manga, shoujo readers would see it and check out the manga only to find it relatively lacking in that regard because it was still pretty much a shounen series despite the magazine.

So fun story that no one asks for or cares: I read this alllll the way back when kissmanga was still alive and didn't have annoying pop-up ads or forced adblock disable notice and actually kinda forgot about it. Later on I stopped using km and also disqus (their comment service) blocked my country so I stopped using that as well. Well I just found out they unblocked my country, so I proceeded to reread past comments and lo-and-behold, km comments are still there, and I made a comment there saying the story has a very unsatisfying ending haha.
I will have to reread this when I have time.

Edit: Also just saying this artist's yaoi works hit all my kinks XD. I honestly think she needs more popularity for her yaoi works.
