That's not actually that special.... sure, there are lots of stories where one or both parents are gone/dead.... but that's just because there are millions of stories...

Both parents being alive is also super common....
Eh. We're used to Disney movies. You can count on one or two hands how many protagonists have both parents alive through the movie. Even in literature that has the parents alive, at least one will be killed off in becoming a Disney movie.

Disney movies are a small minority of movies... and not even all Disney movies have the parents dead... just most of the famous ones...

And people on this thread should be used to anime/manga, not just Disney movies...

And if the mom is alive, she's the villain

Rearing your horse in front of a person after the horse was galloping is dangerous. I'm surprised mc didn't take offense.

The Klausel, or at least their retinue seem like good people. I imagine circumstances down the road lead to him formalizing this working relationship he has going on with the Klausel, if only to support the neutrals thus maybe, maybe helping him maintain his distance from the game plot, or so he thinks. I wish him best of luck

I wonder if the authors gonna use the typical... He wasnt evil, He was just framed of killing the saintess thru Conspiracy and he joined the demon army because of it.

Its also like possible the target is the saintess so "He killed her" when he really didnt. Just to decieved the two sides.

Nobody after all has seen the 3rd part

I'm surprised by how many people like the girl here.

I personally find her annoying and wish she would go away. She keeps abusing her status as nobility and making the MC's life difficult. If he had a choice in the matter, this wouldn't be so annoying.

Pushing for a "better life" (whatever that means) by using deceit, lies, subterfuge, and sabotage is a subversion of the will of the people regardless of what the intentions are.

But let's keep it general, and assume that the Hero faction isn't like that generally. Their attitude is still "We have produced heroes, therefore we know best." Do not fall into the trap of assuming that "more democratic" automatically means "more free"; it doesn't. Neither should you fall into the trap of believing that "more democratic" automatically means "less wealth disparity"; it doesn't.

No, the issue is that the group willing to serve the nobility and keep everyone enslaved are portrayed as the good guys and the ones that want what's best for everyone is being portrayed as the bad guys is the issue.

Yes, they are the bad guys, but my issue is why do Japanese authors always try to portray people wanting freedom and equality and bad guys while constantly, in many stories, the good guys are the ones that follow royalty or support slavery and what not....

Like, that's a very common thing in Japanese media...

Like "rich people wanting all power and control are good guys, and poor people fighting for their rights are bad guys"....

You have simply fallen into another trap: That the people proclaiming that they want freedom and equality are telling the truth. Sometimes, they're liars.

Because the only universal truth is this: Tyrants are drawn towards positions that give them control over others. The Viscount is not aligned with the hero faction because he wants freedom or equality; he's aligned with them because it provides him with a convenient vehicle by which he can assert his will over others and that's all there is to it.

It is this way with each and every single organization that pursues these ideals of freedom and equality, because such organizations naturally require trust within their ranks, and more decentralization of authority and power to function. Without a single point of authority, it is impossible to oversee everything and ensure that it is in-line with the rest of the organization; all that can be done is to remain vigilant for such abuses of power and try to reign them in when they are discovered.

If you are going to survive in the world, then you must grow up and realize that not everyone who claims to share your ideals actually does; there will always be at least one that is trying to trick you into chains.

I know that can be the case, but that's not what I'm talking about. I think you are missing my point.

I don't think the guys in THIS case are good guys.

The issue is that for some reason, anime and manga put people fighting for freedom as the bad guys and the royalty or nobility is the good side.

Even if the nobility or royalty is scum, the freedom fighters are still the bad guys....

It's a constant thing in many of these forgettable series...

I've seen a single series have the commoners over throw royalty and almost every other story portrays the anti nobles as bad...
