Actually quite smart to "miss" the chance to introduce himself. Build up the mystery! After all, he's already a hero in Fiona's imagination, so keep striking while the iron is hot. Now that Fiona is paying attention to him, despite not knowing who he is, if he continues to give a really good impression, to the point of charming her, then when she finally learns who he is, the combined effect will be legendary.

The words "Moon and Stars" come to mind. As in, "Over the Moon" and "Seeing Stars".

Our boy is in serious trouble. He's got the attention of two powerful noble families, both of whom have daughters in his age bracket, and both of them pretty much owe their lives to him.

I think it will be less a question of which one he gets with, and more a question of, "Who gets to be the principle wife?"

I'm fairly sure he is mega dead. This entire thing is most likely related to the dragon remains which father of Fiona absorbed in the game plot after she died. Long story short, fast and free power up for the MC as usual.

I'm more interested in why he called the amulet the director making Fiona wear, trash.

I don't know about the dragon heart thing.
Trash item, I presume that in the game it had low stats or a low grade efect on the user, but in a real world the effect could turn into something useful.
The name makes it a exorcism related item, possibly to expel ghosts or evil spirits, and seems to have reacted to MC, possibly for his nature as reincarnator.

There are other party involved.
It’s already shown that the exam is under heavy confidentiality (even the captain of the ship delivering them only got informed shortly).
Klonoa is also travelling, so those parties probably skipped getting her approval and decide everything behind her back when it would be too late for her to veto it as principal.
