They are reaping what they sowed after they called him the unruly little brother lacking calmness and dignity.

Ok, after seeing that TN about how to pronounce "Lean", I am of the opinion that it has been transliterated incorrectly. リアン should be "Rhianne".

mikene: sighhh, i wonder what happpened to make riheed change like that????
me: checks beginning of chapter...hmmm i see maybe because YOU CALLED HIM MICHIEVOUS AND UNRULY LITTLE BROTHER THAT LACKED DIGNITY AND CLAMNESS!!!??!!?!?maybe, i dont know!?!?
@GodGinrai how about Rhianna then? i bet that would be a better translation. lol

@chenando1 That would still be closer than "Lean", but I specifically chose "Rhianne" over "Rhianna", because the author supposedly used ン and not ナ.

Sure, lacking calmness and dignity is a thing, but going from 0 to 100 is comicly(Cannot for the life of me find the proper word for it) wrong. Kinda guessing that the Elven princess is 100 dignity and calmness just because elves are supposed to be like that, seemed tired after their talk.

"Rian" or "Rhian" might be sufficiently agender and confusing as to fit everyone's initial assumption that she's a boy.

Considering how a lot of L words are pronounced with a rolled R in Japanese, I feel like it would be Lianne.

To everyone who was talking about Leon's name here are the reasons we're sticking to Leon:

1. Leon is an actual name
2. Leon is a boyish name so it fits the character
3. Leon is pronounced the same way it's pronounced in the original Japanese text

@Harooka If the character was a boy, I could understand Leon. But given the fact that she's a girl, and that her mother has handed down charm magic to her, I believe the actual name Rhianne, which means nymph, is more appropriate.

@harooka

@godginrai

Gonna have to side with Godginrai on this one.

Also, the pronunciation example you gave doesn't really make sense. The 'an' sound is annul is not the same as the 'on' sound in Leon. It's 'uh-null' and 'lee-on'

Japanese manga authors are notoriously bad at English, I don't know why you'd take the author's word for how a word should be spelled/pronounced. What makes you think they can translate non-Japanese words properly? :p

It's clearly Rhianne.
