Remember when this manga was about a guy and his harem of monster girls?

Because the Author is afraid to actually go the route of giving a True Harem to MC.
I mean with the amount of relationship development he had done for the core group, the next step for MC is for them to get romantically involved, which is what Author is trying to avoid covering by doing all these random story plots.

I think that Author is the type, who visualise themselves as the MC, and can't think of themselves having a physical/romantic relationship with a woman, so fail to expand on the story around them.

Damn, was kinda hoping Garu would stick around at least as some part of MON squad, not that this manga updates much anymore anyways since Okayado just releases whenever he feels like now. She reminds me of Flake from 12Beast... another series he dropped in the middle of the story without even a "the journey continues" chapter.

I think it's more like, the Prez knows that Smith has a talent to find the best person for the job.
So, he just follows behind her and tries to poach anyone useful.

Gotta have some lows to appreciate the highs. That said, I'd prefer these kind of chapters that expand the world building than restrict the story to the MC and his harem.

Honestly, I kinda feel like all the hyperfocus on world building happened after 12 Beast got canceled. Sure it started a little while before that, but around that same time it pretty quickly went from "Kimihito and the girls interacting with others for world building" to "Random dudes and monster girls everywhere, with the original cast in the background sometimes".
12 Beast had a lot of effort put into making its world make sense, and I remember him saying it felt like he was being pressured to drop it to focus on this so he did and now it kinda feels like he brought the world building focus over from that out of spite.
