Reminds me of Tsukune's first day at Youkai academy in Rosario X Vampire. Although why isn't the MC more suspicious? He collapses on stage while giving a speech, wakes up alone in audience at night, and doesn't wonder why not a single one of the dozens of people there didn't bring him to the infirmary but left him lying in the audience section? Or the fact that he was being given a great offer of free tuition to a prodigious school without wondering what they'd get out of it? Guy needs to chug down a few energy drinks to get his blood flowing and his mental processes going. Otherwise he's going to turn into one of the living dead, a mindless zombie that just wonders around aimlessly but without the hunger for human flesh and brains of the living the undead variant possesses.
