i think... that just not how the indomitable human spirit is supposed to work

inst it called "indomitable spirit" because it can thrive despite of pain and terrors?

It does feel a little bit like it's gonna go the Mother Theresa route of sacred suffering.

Man, this manga adaptation seems to be taking quite a different route compared to the light novel.

I haven't read the light novel, but I looked at the descriptions and images of the two volumes currently available and this girl that's appeared at the end of this chapter is only supposed to appear from volume 2. He's supposed to have a whole adventure in the first volume.

Here's my prediction: this is an ad for the light novel, since they're rushing to introduce the (probably) main heroine as quickly as possible. I expect this manga to be quite a mess.

I get it just fine. They turned two chapters into four. They're not allowed to do that as per rule 3.2.2. Report their asses.
I figured out why they split the chapters even though they're in one piece in the raws. They have a website where the chapters are split too, so it's probably to get more ad views (though I'm personally not getting any ads). Seems they're too lazy to follow the rules and merge them back together again. Report their asses indeed.

Their credits page also reads like they're trying to run a scanlation churning business and turn a profit off scanlating, which is a grey area and might be illegal.

I'm.. flabbergasted on what I witness.

Here I was thinking his awkward smile was natural and that his "misfortune" eventually killed him but no.

He was actually faking the smile and now the "misfortune" was his parents all along.

I'm just backing up with how much lie the MC spouted in the previous chapter.. except him wanting to die, this flashback makes it solid

What kind of absolute fucking retard translated his name in a literal way to "Indomitable"? He's called Mutou Kushina, 無倒(むとう) 屈止無(くしな) in Japanese.

And what happened to the translation quality for this half chapter? 2.2 looks fine, but 2.1 is worse than MTL. It's like the editor/proofreader skipped this part.
Hi, I'm the translator of this chapter... I'm really sorry about what happened... I translated his name literally here because I thought it was just a compliment from the nurse to the patient... something like a support letter... and I thought the same thing from the parents, since they hate him... I thought they meant to say this word as a joke, because they wish he would disappear from this world... so I translated it literally just to fit the dark atmosphere

Could you please tell me what wasn't good in the first half of the chapter? It will help me improve the translation in the future.

Normally I don't advise "Crashing Out", but if he didn't end these POS before he died, I'll be extremely disappointed.

I kinda want to like this, but I feel it's just going to be depressing. And not in the fun way.

Sometimes authors try too hard to be unique. An immortal, unkillable, fearless protag. Is that really so hard? Does everyone have to be disturbed with a backstory that'd make Naruto say "Damn"?

Man... You should stop drinking while translating, because that makes no sense at all.

Could you please tell me what wasn't good in the first half of the chapter? It will help me improve the translation in the future.
Common MTL issues, like misinterpreting who's speaking about who. Example: page 28, the last two speech bubbles. The mother is saying that he's causing trouble for the family by exaggerating his injuries and being lazy.

Messing up negatives, like on page 23 "Even when I had a cold, I was kicked for not taking breaks". In fact, looking at the raws, this is a really weird way to translate this part. Here he's saying that even if he caught a cold, he was kicked and not allowed to rest.

Translating the same line differently even though it was already translated well in the previously. Previous chapter it was "Why do I keep drawing the short end of the stick" and this chapter it's "Why do I always get dealt the worst hand" for no reason even though it's the exact same line in the raws.

Now that I'm looking at the raws of chapter 1.2, at the end, right before this line, the Goddess actually says his name, Mutou Kushina, not the skill name. So I guess that chapter has the same issues, just that it was better proofread.

And a huge amount of other incomprehensible translations. Seriously, if a real human put any amount of effort into actually reading the story, they'd see how many of the translations don't make any sense in context. You'd have to either be brain dead or an AI.

Actually, you know what? I kinda started believing that this is a human translation after all. I tried using Google Lens, and the translation is much more comprehensible. I just have a hard time understanding how could someone make such retarded mistakes.

I'm done here. I don't believe you actually care about improving your translations, so this is just wasted effort. I'm gonna stop trying to prove how shit some people's translations are in general.

In fact, I'm just gonna stop reading translations at all. I'm fucking tired of all the garbage. Just gonna bite the bullet and switch completely to raws. Sayonara, fuckos.

Look, I've never been abused the way the MC here was... but I feel like the psychology of an abuse victim wouldn't quite work like the author wants it to? If living is such misery and he's truly not afraid of death—even seemingly welcoming it as his reaction to surviving being eaten seems to indicate—then there should have be no barrier preventing him from committing suicide in a way that's definitely fatal like
slashing his wrists longways before falling off the top of a skyscraper into traffic
.
Some may want to die, but they're not suicidal. There are those who'd try to survive, but yet they don't mind if they don't make it.

just because someone wants to die doesnt mean they have the ability or rather state of mind to intentionally kill themselves.
