I'm confused with the chronology. Directly before and after this chapter, Pearl is clearly kidnapped, but here she comes home safely?

Is this .5 chapter a flashback to her first errand, distinct from the current errand into the city (where she is kidnapped)? If so, that wasn't indicated well.

The start of the chapter feels like it could be a straight continuation from where chapter 4 left off, not a flashback. But that makes no sense, because the rest of the chapter shows Pearl coming back safely, which isn't possible because she's just been kidnapped.

I'm just so confused at how this chapter fits chronologically with the rest of the story.

The start of the chapter explains that this is when Pearl asks if she can go to town, for the first time, then it shows how Pearl came to own the gloves shown in chapter 4, then at the end it shows her coming back safely and they have a tea party and celebrate Pearls first errand to town... This bonus chapter is also after chapter 4 in volume 1
