At the end of this particular mess. Shagard gives Serena a jewel that’s related to his family. Evans realizes what it is and is in shock that Shagard also has feelings for Serena. Then Evans realizes that he was so busy trying to deal with the exchange students that he didn’t try to woo Serena like usual, or even make any progress getting closer to her. When he realizes his failure, his own parents the King and Queen are disappointed in him and kinda lay into him how pathetic that was.

Meanwhile Tigur notices the jewel, asks about it. Serena answers and Tigur senses danger. He immediately shoves the jewel into a drawer in Serena’s room where it will be forgotten, for now. Serena never picked up on Shagard’s feelings for her.

I kind of pity the twins. They are by no means good people but they could have been had they been raised in a better environment or been protected by their grandfather. Of course, politically speaking, the grandfather couldn’t do much for them publicly as any sort of help would be interpreted by ne’re-do-wells as them having a shot at the thrown which is the opposite of what he wants. I do hope the prince (of the mc’s kingdom) throws them a bone but at the same time I could totally see the twins ignoring him and going through with whatever harebrained scheme they come up with.
