I can kind of get that, honestly. I'd be suspicious/skeptical of why they're talking to me and don't even bother when they leave, almost like a relief, really.
For someone in his line of job, being good looking and also a social butterfly is quite jarring his character doesn't felt very real to me all these times. There is even this half-jokes that people in his business gotta have their traits distributed in the pie chart of Not attractive; Chronic health condition; Mental illness/social anxiety. Him being attractive and healthy would only mean a very bad case of mental illness/social anxiety.
Now everything kinda makes a lot more sense and I'm kinda more invested in it.
