As far as i remember the guy is kind so he doesn't deserve to be NTR at all. Hope it'll be settled in few chapters.

I haven't done fencing in a couple years but my old club was foil focused and whenever we were allowed to use other swords everyone immediately wanted to do saber but I always found epee and foil to be more fun

Wished they explained a little bit more about fencing. You know, like how every sword also has different rules on how to get a point apart from just hitting the oponent in the target zone.

Also, saber is well known for being extremely hard to follow because it's really aggresive. Like, ridiculously aggresive. You'll see people jumping over their oponent or parrying consecutive attacks like is nothing.
