When I see compositions like this, I always wonder: did the artist not thing it could land without the exclamation pointing out the symbolism, or was it an editor thing?
It's like if you went to a museum, and the curators didn't think you'd notice the plaque explaining the piece if they just had it next to it, so they scribbled it right on the painting.

I think this gag has been done once before in another chapter, but Takasugi is playing another sport (and he is also not in that club's sports team)
