Me: Oh man, almost double the amount of comments, I wonder what all they're about!
Also me: I'm not sure what I was expecting...

@Garrett I guess you missed the point that people tried to explain to you.

He DID NOT molest her. He DID NOT threaten her. He DID NOT perform any crime. So far. Or maybe ever. Him thinking about it doesn't make him a molester.

It's like saying that any fictional writer who wrote about some murder or torture in detail is a killer or sadist.

Sure, personality of that supposed molester is terrible, and he has low morals, but he is not a criminal yet.

So naturally locking him up makes no sense since he didn't break the law. It's not his fault that Nakano can red thoughts, he never said anything like that aloud. And when people are depressed they tend to occasionally get dark thoughts, sometimes very dark. It doesn't mean they would ever have guts to do it. That's why calling him criminal and suggesting to lock him up is improper. He is likely a scum, but not a criminal.

It's true that possibility of culprit being a woman is probably lower, but you assumed it's impossible, and I agree it's sexist.

Basically you say that only men are capable of molestation and rape, while woman are by default innocent in such cases, or what?

There are sadistic woman, and woman who prefer girls. The difference is, woman are normally more rational and cautious, and it's much harder to prove that woman raped someone, normally police wouldn't even believe you if you tell them something like that.

That's why the molester in this chapter might as well be a woman, who is too cautious to actually do anything, despite her dark desires. She may know that if she does it and gets caught, she will get in trouble, and it's not worth it. But if there was no punishment for such actions, she would probably do it.

TL;DR The "offender" can be a woman, nothing prevents this from happening, based on the information we have at the moment. The fact that you think it's impossible shows that stereotypes are strong in you. It's not always a bad thing, since stereotypes are often correct, but the fact it's sexist remains true.

@Derael I never said is impossible (especially in Japanese manga, where ANYTHING can happen). But I hold my view: that wouldn't be funny, but stupid, since the chances are EXTREMELY low that in this context (and vanilla romance manga), is a woman. Talk to all your woman friends who were once groped on a bus or train. I'll be astonished if you have more than one single friend out of 10 who the culprit is a woman. It's extremely rare in comparison to men culprits, it's an undeniable fact. Sexual assault isn't a funny thing, and even in manga it's very uncommon to try to do the situation on the last chapter into something funny. How revealing the potential groper is a woman-going-to-work would be remotely funny, you tell me. If that's sexist, the dictionaries need a review.

Are you sure I'm the one not understanding the point?
He didn't just "thought about it": he WANTED to -> INTENTION
He didn't think "aw, she's cute", he literally thought "I WANT TO MAKE HER CRY" and "IT WILL BE OVER IN A FLASH".
And she can read thoughts.

What's so hard to understand she's in actual danger? There is criminal intent i his thoughts, and he was just about to actuate his plan.
This is well beyond an author writing a murder story, he probably already did it contless times.

It's the same as my example. A man screaming "I'LL KILL YOU" with a knife in hand running towards you:
You can asses the threat, but he hasn't stabbed you yet, so he is not a criminal.
Just a guy jogging with a knife. Maybe he's just singing a death metal song. Maybe the knife is just a plastic prop.
But if you can fucking read his mind and his mind says "I WANT TO FUCKING SEE YOUR INESTINES ON THE FLOOR" he is probably a criminal.

Let me know if you still want to defend him so I can block you too.

@Garrett Brandishing a knife or any other weapon is a crime in most civilized countries so your example falls flat. You're also making a whole bunch of dumb assumptions.
You should watch the Twilight Zone episode "A Penny for Your Thoughts", I think it'd do some good for you.

You're equating thinking mean thoughts with threatening someone with a knife. I want you to say "thinking mean thoughts is the same as threatening someone with a knife" out loud. Do you hear how absolutely retarded you sound? It sounds exactly that retarded even when it's in text form.

No I'm not, but I guess that's what you want to hear.
I am equating the INTENTION to molest someone with the INTENTION to kill.
There is INTENTION (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intention_(criminal_law)) here.
That's the key.
It's not the thought.
It's the fucking INTENTION.
You can be charged if there is INTENTION.
You can't if it's just a thought.
You are a bad person if you have the INTENTION to do bad things.
You are not if you just think about it.

See how it's different? No?
If not, you are the retarded one, no offense to the actually disabled people.

If no action has occurred, then any intent means nothing. Prove that the thought criminal made any actions to put his plan in motion. Show my the physical recording, show me the witness he confided in that he was planning to molest Nakano that can give credible testimony, show me which panels showed him moving closer so that he might set his plan in motion. Prove, in any way, that the person YOU CANNOT EVEN IDENTIFY had legitimate intent to molest Nakano. And guess what? An unstable teenage girl saying "I heard someone thinking about molesting me" is not proof. Say it out loud and you'll know why it's not proof.

You are a bad person if you have the INTENTION to do bad things.

No, the actual bad person is the one that assumes intent before any action or even declaration has taken place.

Retreating to your hugbox and closing the blinds doesn't make you any less wrong, but it does make you even more of a coward.

Please tell me this isn't like Koneko Hiroimashita. I don't want the author cancelling the series over a controversial chapter (even though this is nothing controversial, the comments here speak for themselves)

97 comments. Almost a hundred comments whereas some chapters have 0 (probably because they were reuploads but still) and it’s on this chapter.
