So, I guess I'm the first to review this in 3 years. That would have been a warning sign had I checked the reviews beforehand. Up to about Chapter 87, it was a great read for what it was, but afterwards it suddenly becomes a slog to read through. The main plot gets sidelined and it unironically becomes a generic wuxia story. I'm stopping at Chapter 96 and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say the author completely forgot about the SYSTEM for the past 9 chapters. We haven't even heard a peep of this guy think about the real world. And now it's dawdling on some extras that are kind of irrelevant. It's such a big shift.
The power scaling is also wack the entire story, and that might be why the story sucks now. The author gave the protagonist too much plot armor and can't scale further. Probably also why the real world was forgotten because he has probably already become the strongest in the real world. Also, in the first few dozen chapters, first-rates were lvl 30-40, and later on it lvl 40-50 becomes borderline first-rate maybe second-rate. The heck? And also, the author uses Deus Ex Machina every time the protagonist encounters a major antagonist. And it's not very creative. The protagonist uses the same method to beat the first and fourth antagonist.
There is also a ton of retconning of stuff that would be interesting, but was probably abandoned because the author couldn't figure out how to do it. For example, the protagonist's buddy was supposed to be trying to figure out how the machine works. But hey, actually, he doesn't try! And hey, the machine is now completely irrelevant because the protagonist doesn't need it to get into the Murim world at all anymore!
This is just a standard wuxia story, with less edginess, with the gimick of the protagonist being from Earth. It's at about a 6/10 now.
