@tgot @Shiroi_Kage It's a totally stupid decision and almost every fan of the series would agree with this, but it's in line with her character. She's not someone who can express her full intentions with just a few words, which she's trying to do since she fears that he'll follow her once she lets out one word more than necessary and give away her destination. Had she actually talked to him about it, then he'd more or less be in a much better state than he is right now. But then again, nobody's really sure if he'll let her go on a journey without him.

yeah, but Eris almost had a level of Stockholm syndrome with Rudy as it isn't like she could leave either of the 2 or she would for sure die. Even still, spending all that time with 1 guy who does everything for you, cares for you and doesn't try to hurt you. You'd kinda assume that the other party would start to reciprocate to the same degree or more as a way of paying them back.

Never heard of those, so it is hard for me to compare it to this. Were either of those as popular as this manga or more so?

I definitely understand her point of view. Although it may not be how Rudeus sees it, she knows she wouldn't be happy with herself if all she was, was a thing to be protected. She knew she wouldn't grow as a person if she didn't live her own life. Of course, she didn't have to ditch him in the middle of the night, but I'll give her a pass because she's a teenager, and teens rarely make the best decisions (I sure as hell didn't). And maybe for her, because of her attachment to Rudy, she felt like if she did go to him to talk about it, he would either talk her out of it or be discouraged out of leaving.
