Unfilled text bubbles, sloppy cleaning, plus what reads like direct translation. This was also uploaded after the usual group made a normal, timely release.

I think I'll pass... Please consider working on some other currently dropped manga? There's lots out there.

It's weird how the subject of many sentences is drastically different from the other translation. I think the other translation did most of it better, though.
Page 2 starts with him being somewhat appalled that he has to help her because he owes her a favour, only for her to claim that she now owes him a favour? Doesn't quite make sense that way.
Also don't remember Chi having been hired to be a hired part-timer, but that might be on me. Haven't re-read the series in a while.

Is this the first time we've seen Chiharu's full name? Curious why it wasn't in the other translation.

>shitty cleans
"Shit scans for shit people" was at the top of the first page, my guy.
>missing bubbles
Literally one bubble that read "は・・・ははは・・・", but fair point.
>raw MTL
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

This is the second time Chiharu's full name has come up, I think. First time for Minami though.

On pg. 2 dialogue:
You're wrong, so let me show you where you're wrong.

Raw: 貸しのつもりが借りって事か?報われねぇな。 // いつかあなたが本当の目的を果たす時にまとめて返すわ。たからお願い。 // 了解した
Literal: You owing me has become me owing you? (My efforts) aren't rewarded. // Someday, when you (put effort toward/try) accomplish your true goal, I will repay you. So please. // Roger that.
Theirs: You're already in my debt, and you want another favor? You must be joking? // When it's time for you to bring about your objectives, I'll be sure to repay the favour. So please. // Alright, I'll hold you to it.
Mine: So now I owe you a favor? Some thanks this is. // I'll gladly repay my debt to you when you work toward your true goal. So please. // Roger that.

In this case, their translation is just wrong. Like, come on.

Also, in doing this chapter, I noticed that they have a habit of over-writing dialogue. Some people are okay with this, but I'm not. Plus, they're often unnatural or just plain grammatically incorrect. This sorta shit happens when the TL is also the Proofreader is also the Quality Checker (which is the same in my case, but I'm also better at English).
Below are some free examples because I can't sleep:

Pg.1, panel 3
Raw: それを言うなら・・・あなたこそなぜあのファイルを私に?
Lit: If that's what you're going to say... Why did you (give) me the file?
Theirs: If you really want to know... Can I ask, why did you give me that folder back then?
Mine: If that's what you're going with... why did you get those files to me?"

I leaned a little too literally here, but it still works.

Pg.1, panel 4
Raw: CATTがまさか本当に「演出」で矛を収めるとはね・・・
Lit: CATT surprisingly because it was a "performance" sheathed their swords (withdraw)...
Theirs: I've never expected CATT to react the way they did, and withdrew all of their operational assets subsequently...
Mine: I didn't expect C.A.T.T. to accept that it was just a "part of the act" and withdraw.

"operational assets subsequently"? Nowhere in the raws.

Pg. 1, panel 6
Raw: あなたの狙いは詮索しないけど・・・少なくとも組織に対して従順な立場ではない事は分かる。
Lit: (I won't) inquire into your goal, but... I know at least you are not in a loyal position to the organization.
Theirs: All I know, is that you aren't the type who will fully comply with CATT's directives.
Mine: But I at least understand that you're not entirely loyal to the organization.

CATT wasn't directly named in this panel, and "directives" weren't mentioned at all.

You can like my version if you want. Or not. I really don't care, but don't go saying their scripts are better than mine when that's blatantly false.

I'll give them a point for getting ジモティー though. I've literally never heard that term before and didn't Google it because I thought it was Valentine's disguise's alias or something.

@xxsaznpride Minami gave her full name in chapter 41. Edit: Finally found Chiharu, her name was seen in chapter 61.

@xxsaznpride you could of just done a tl note at the end explaining the differences then. You could of avoided all the hate if you just had a tl note tbh. The way you released just made it look like a sniping attempt tbh

TL defended themselves pretty well, I'd say. And speaking from a purely English standpoint, this take on the chapter is far less awkward then Entropia. Characterization and expressions are at least A-level.

Stop calling foul just because someone thought they could do a better job. Do it when you have evidence they didn't. Missing text for a minor bubble aside, they're head and shoulders above in making the TL not sound like it was dictated by an ESL (English as a Second Language) speaker.

Funny. The Japanese Wiki page says Chiharu's last name wasn't revealed until chapter 87, but here we are.

TL Notes are for the weak. Look at the TL Notes page from the official release of Bisque Doll (or whatever the official name is). Other than honorifics, all it really talks about are terms related to sewing that non-sewers probably aren't familiar with. They aren't stupid and unnecessary comments like "I didn't understand what they were saying here" or quips about the shine on a girl's booty defying physics. And you know how that translator (Taylor something-or-other?) pulled that off? By being good at his or her fucking job.

And I don't care about "the hate". "Sniping" is something basement dwellers care about when their fragile egos get bruised because someone's better or faster at doing the illegal thing they're doing.

Hamburglar here with the logic. My man!

The release you're commenting on is credited to /a/nonymous and you're complaining about >implying things?????????????

@xxsaznpride: I for one actually appreciate the higher level of quality in this translation. If it's indeed more accurate than Entropia's*, then I really wish we had gotten this from the very beginning instead. Out of curiosity, are you part of the /a/ scanlation team, or just a middleman?

* I wouldn't know myself since I don't have access to the raws, and I have a hard time manually reconstructing kanji even when I have the raws.

Honestly, since Eutropia decided to drop it, then whatever, but I just wanted to comment on this.

Sniping is frowned upon mainly because most people would much rather have the translator they like to continue translating the manga, instead of having some silly competition of two people on the same project.

Like, geez, why take a project that is already taken? There is a bazillion of projects out there that are waiting to be picked up or started from scratch... I'd much rather see someone working on those instead of on an already taken project.

Oh well, Eutropia decided to be the more mature group and simply drop the project, so... Good luck I guess?

Looks like you missed the other comment sections where this subject was clubbed over the head like a baby seal.

>rather have the translator they like
There's only one thing you should be loyal to and it's the quality of the releases. My TL > their TL. My clean/TS < their clean/TS. These would have been valid criticisms. Saying you like them more without reason is not valid and does nothing for the discussion.

>silly competition
Okay.

>I'd much rather see someone working on those instead of on an already taken project.
And I'd rather work on a series I want to work on. Funny how that works.

Ah, I caught up to this whole mess after I had already posted the comment... >.>

I'm not really comparing your translations with Eutropia's. I just like any translator that does a good job, really.

I mean, the only real criticisms I'd have towards you is that you sniped a series instead of starting a new one, and that your PR skills are downright terrible... Your releases are fine though. Perhaps I should have just used another word instead of "like", but... Eh? I just meant a translator that was doing a good job reliably.
And I'd rather work on a series I want to work on. Funny how that works.
I can understand this feeling, I tried translating some novels I didn't care for because I was getting paid for it some time back and... It didn't work out well at all. I can only translate reliably if I enjoy the novel. (Never tried translating mangas OTOH, I feel like the translating part must be a lot easier, but the whole Cleaning and Typesetting part must be too much of a pain... >.>)

Still, I have like... A dozen or so different novels I currently want to translate? I dunno, I just have a hard time imagining you don't have even one series that you'd like to work on that doesn't already have an active translator. (Well, Musuko has only you as an active translator now, so whatever)

I totally get translating the series you want to translate... I just don't get choosing, out of all possible options, a series with an active translator in it already.

I guess I'm just used to having rules against sniping in the Novel Community and most translators actually being happy that they exist... So when I see one happening it just actively drains and tires me... Like, I just don't get the purpose of sniping aside from earning some bucks from ad revenue or patreon I guess? But you clearly aren't earning anything from those releases, so it just doesn't make any sense to me.
