I dont feel like seig is a great character or that lorem is even a good sister considering she was living with seig for three years without even a thought for her sister.
Tbh the author was probably rushing at this point as seig has little to no character development.
Seig also kept on taking about how he was alone due to his powers but made no attempt to make friends with drake and nightmare , and didnt even think of their wellbeing after the battle.

I figure Merii got treated relatively well since her power is on the more conscious side. Can't really hook a car battery to her and put down some buckets to collect magic healing goop, gotta get her to actually cooperate.

And considering how Zeke seems to have been treated quite well, even though you probably could just strap him down and jab some needles in him to get the poison, the researchers probably lean more toward carrot than stick. It is a bit ambiguous though, and could just be a consequence of him appearing to be quite calm and passive.

No one was close to right for a pretty valid reason. Zeke kept acting like Lorem was an unstrustworthy loose cannon. There's a difference between drawing the wrong idea and being outright misled by lies.

@Zaldun that was already explained (or at least heavily hinted at) in earlier chapters, particularly with the island facility with the scorpion demon girl. I also seem to remember it being brought up fairly early on when Merii was introduced, but I could be wrong about the timing.

Well Merii has never really mentioned her captivity negatively? So I guess it wasn't that bad?
I'd bet the worst thing is that she wasn't able to find Lorem, or thought she died.
Then to instead find out that she got married and is having a kid. Boy I wanna see THAT scene. Merii would be shocked.
