Because her rejection would make it look like being the crown prince's consort is beneath her, and since the Gentronov lady is already one, she would be indirectly insulting her as well.
It's typical aristocrat drama silliness, don't think too much about it.
It might be silliness from a modern perspective, but it was anything but when a noble ruling class existed. It's still something people who have to mind any sort of diplomatic protocol get drilled into them - carefuly consider what your words might indirectly imply, because they will take offense and likely retaliate.

Man, the prince is just so cartoonishly shitty. Like the demand for polygamy and forcing one of the nobles daughter to accept it in public would be bad enough to foster descent but just outright going "Yeah, leave all our politically influential nobles to die while I sit hear and watch and taunt them about it." is the point where you're getting everyone in the room rallying to the first person willing to stage a coup. I was expecting the king to say something to try and mitigate that, but no the dude is just standing there watching alongside the son. If the MC just killed all of them everyone in that room would have just turned the other way and said "Demons got them, such a shame."
Nobility and royalty having multiple concubines was common, the problem is that this is not the way it was arranged. Also, a daughter of a ducal house would likely be considered too good to be anything but the legal wife.

Why call MC "Demon Swordsman" when he is clearly meant to be a MAGIC swordsman, and the term demon is already used to describe a race.
I don't have the raws, but pretty sure the kanji involved is "魔剣士", which can be translated as either "Demon Swordsman" or "Magic Swordsman". That "魔" kanji is also used in the words for demon/devil (悪魔) and magic (魔法).

I wasn't saying the polygamy thing was an issue, it's the fact it was forced. Ignoring the morality of the issue it's still a massive insult to the noble family in question and basically a massive violation of their autonomy. The only time I really remember something like this happening and not resulting in things quickly going to shit in history was in France with that one king who basically cucked this one lesser noble publicly, and even that went kinda sideways since the man did everything in his power to publicly humiliate the king and his wife (since she was going along with it) for the act to the point he was trying to infect the king with syphilis by fucking the nastiest prostitutes before sleeping with his wife.

"I hope you suffer irl for wishing imaginary bad people to suffer, that's such a bad person thing to wish"
It looks like they thought you were looking forward to Folsina falling for her dad rather than any consequences for the prince.

The "autonomy" of a given noble house always went only as far as their actual influence would allow. A royal would absolutely try to strong-arm a convenient marriage if he could, even with foreign aristocrats. The thing is that this was done in private, since as you yourself noted, public displays like that eroded the other party's authority and would usually lead to pointless feuds with no agreement striked, when there could have been one otherwise.

So it IS the usual Demon / Magic translation autism.

Ok seriously how does the prince recover from this. Every noble in that room saw him tell his guards to let them die. Unless the royal family has some North Korea level of "Dear Leader" power surely that's gotta foment the seeds of rebellion in short order. And where is the King and Queen in all this to counteract his comically bad decision making

That settles it for me: The prince has to be a reincarnator. He's also 100% in league with the demons. They were clearly told that the fight here would be easy. He's totally calm when they appear, and his command to only protect the royal family was pretty obviously party of his plot to get the nobility killed so that he would have zero opposition.

If that by itself isn't convincing, the fact that he's absolutely pissed that they retreated should round everything off.

Realistically, he's either going to offer some false platitudes that the MC won't buy, or lose his shit and try to get the MC arrested (which the gathered nobility will most likely object to on account of the price just tried to kill them all).

So, a general or someone similar on the demon side is able to send demons straight to the imperial palace, and yet all they sent were some trash monsters? Does this make sense? Even a single demon carrying a bag full of explosives would have caused much more damage.
That's just how RPGs are when they start with an action scene. Enemy stats are based on where in the game you encounter them, unless it's an optional fight.
