I mean, It's a good idea. He may have a lot of undead but he's lacking actual personnel in the real world so he'll probably bring them back to join his clan. Besides the vampires were obviously going to use the war between The Immortal King and the Church to expand their influence eventually. So it's better to get rid of them before they become nuisance.
