I think it's both. Yes that's obviously a hot woman's body but he was also used to that version as well and it became his visual personfication of her. Imagine if your friend transformed from a good looker to another good looker but completely different without any recognisable trait of course you'd miss the old version more.

I am obviously talking about recognisable physical traits. And I'm discussing very basic human psychology, if someone's mother suddenly transformed and looked completely different it would unerve them because humans like consistency.
