Xiaoen's biological parent called her and ask her to "fix" Xiaoyang (it's still ambiguous about whatever it could be but it seems related to them not being man enough in some way), Xiaoen then has a flashback on the time she seemingly dropped out of school and probably also fled her home to ask her bio parents something

Mu Xiaoen (older sis) and Niu Xiaoyang (younger...brother?) are biological siblings. Xiaoen got adopted by relatives in Peachtown at age 2, Xiaoyang stayed with their biomom/dad. Over the last few years, Xiaoyang has become more gender-nonconforming, and the parents are trying to wrangle them back into being a man.

The flashback is seemingly about the time when Mu Xiaoen was a teen, and skipped school to look for her biological parents.
