They might, actually not do anything because they already have a bias against her. The dad is more inclined to believe the mother and dismiss her accusations as a way to get her self out a theft she did out of jealousy against her sister or as just ramblings.

Did the mangaka finally see how much of a vile character the little sister is so now the mangaka is trying to make her out to be a victim? No one deserves the worst more than the little sister, its going to be hard to change my opinion after all that has already happened.

Nah, lil sis is just socially blind. It comes with being isolated in a bed with very limited interaction with people.

Her being an unwitting pawn of the mother makes a twisted kind of sense. By being sick, it ensures lil sis would never properly learn of the outside world, which in turn gives her parents full control of her understanding of the world.

It takes intent to consistently inconvenience someone the way Illya has been, and Sylvia does not have the attitude for that.
