I die inside a little every time I read someone complaining about 'no harem' in the comments section of any manga.

I beg to disagree.
Firstly, the chapters are ultra short. They may seem longer since they're drawn in a long strip format, but there's a lot less content in each chapter than your average manga chapter.
Secondly, there definitely has been development. There's been development for Chen Ge, Zhang Nan, and Lu Ren Jia, with the hints and flashbacks at their past littered throughout the manhua so far.
Chen Ge's slightly warmed up to Zhang Nan seemingly because of his clumsily amiable demeanour, and Zhang Nan has changed his mind about running away from being clan heir- which is a big turning point from his perspective as he's rejected that notion since a certain point in childhood.
There are no major developments like MC gaining physical power because that's just not the kind of story this is. It's not as fantastical as most shounens. It's more coming-of-age I think.

I think the problem with this manhua is the clickbait title "My Girlfriend is a Villain" if the story don't go in the sense of the title.... This story it's no sense.... if the author put in the title "What's the story speak about" I will maybe see this Manhua too BUT with Other expectation that what I had....
Why ? But it's simple
If I read "Shadows House" I don't expect A Isekai with Harem story, or
"Immortal Nanny Dad" I don't expect action or Harem or romance, I just Expect Cultivation and Babysitting with comedie .
"Mother, I'm Sorry" I expect a story with a mother

With... My Girlfriend is a Vilian I was to except a story with a lazy or a Weak MC with a....Girlfriend that...is a Vilain.... I don't expect a HAREM I expect a Romance, Fight and Comedie Not a Story with a guy that need superation or something like that, I don't say that the story is bad, It's just a deception...

Xiao means small or young as mentioned so naturally, it can be used from a position of power to degrade the person you're talking too (basically saying that he/she is ignorant or weak)

Idk if this is mentioned before, but Lu Ren Jia 路人甲 literally means Passerby A, and is used to call characters which have no impact. Idk if Zhao Yu calls himself 路人甲 or some stupidly punny variant like... idk 陆仁贾? But basically, no one will take you seriously or think that it's your real name. I mean, imagine asking someone what that person's name is and the reply you get is something along the lines of, "I'm just a random passerby." You won't think that "random passerby" is his/her name, right? That line is actually pretty cringy too lol... Anyway, point is, that's why he says that he would rather be an "Ordinary Lu Ren Jia" and his bro mocks that. I'm surprised that he has been actually treating Lu Ren Jia as his name tho.... I always thought that he used the phrase as a nickname or a blatantly obvious pseudonym or something....

Regarding the story overall, I don't think it's right to say that there is little romance, at least from the chapters so far. I do agree that it's more of a coming-of-age and slowburner kind of manhua tho; it's so short that's what it's gonna feel like. I'm reading this for their backstories so I guess I'm still in for the ride.

I mean, I definitely think there is some romantic tension there and the three main female characters are variously close to the MC. It isn't total false advertising.

Of you want a total straightforward power fantasy though it is definitely not what is on offer here. People are better served by X number of isekai mangas or othe manwhas out there.

Thanks again for the translation and the note at the end definitely helps make some sense out of the shenanigans going on. If his childhood trauma is all part of a dastardly plot to aid Si Mo Si's rise to the top then...
