i feel like the whole arc of Lins past with her being revealed should’ve been enough to let things work out on it’s own. feels like the author is trying to turn the tables in a way, but it doesn’t feel natural at all. it feels out of character for both sides, especially with the development we just had. it almost feels like it never happened in the first place

Frankly I didn't like that flashback arc.
But it happened, and the current events fit perfectly as consequences of it.
Doesn't it tell you a lot that such an important thing as Lin past and the origin of her feelings towards Lu were told by Lin brother instead of her?
It's not surprising Lu doesn't see herself as dating Lin if they can't even hold a serious conversation. Lin needs to be more serious and get our of her comfort zone. Because even with context, Lu Will never see her advances as what they are if she keeps acting as if everything were a game.
