this is why i love inso's law so much. unlike most isekai's, inso's law has a more realistic outlook on the genre. dani isn't like most isekai main characters. in a way, i guess she's smarter and more down to earth? i don't really know how to explain it, but the way this manhwa is written just makes me very invested.
Unpopular opinion, but she deserves it to be taught a lesson about appreciating people regardless of the circumstance. She’s not very nice even if switching between worlds is scary.
I LOVE HOW THE STORY IS UNFOLDING. I have been intrigued since the beginning when her neighborhood and mom are the same, like is this a dream, how comes the two worlds are combining, which one is real, is her mom truly her mom if she has all these false memories and stuff.
Also, while I agree that she should treat the people around her better but you guys gotta realize why she is like this right? She has been dealing with a lot, a new world that is partial similar to her own world but also a web novel. She is insecure and lonely, no one understand how she feels and she cannot talk to anyone either.
Re-reading this but it's neat to see the contrast between Chunyoung and Jiho over the last couple of chapters.
Chunyoung sees what's right in front of him. He's very blunt - someone who lays his cards on the table. When Dani puts up her emotional walls, Chunyoung presses her for answers but because Dani remains airtight, his trust in her plummets and he questions their friendship and her sincerity. Chunyoung feels betrayed when their friendship seems one-sided on his part.
Jiho tries to look at the bigger picture. He's unhappy and suspicious when Dani asks if they can act like they don't know each other in high school but he holds back and gives Dani the benefit of the doubt. Jiho is the type to play his cards close to his chest; from his inner thoughts, we know he's got so many questions for her but because Jiho knows Dani will be even more reluctant to open up when pressured, he relents. All he can do is speculate. When Dani asks to put distance between them, Jiho implicitly trusts that she has a good reason for it and manages to reach a compromise with her.
Also, when Chunyoung goes off on Dani, he says she made him think they were friends "with that fake face" of hers, implying that Dani always put on a friendly and innocent facade in front of them, which is why he never doubted their friendship until he heard her say she wanted to transfer. Conversely, Jiho points out that Dani sometimes behaves/looks at them like they're strangers; he appears to be cognizant of the emotional distance she puts between them, but at the same time, it doesn't shatter Jiho's belief in the friendship they've built or the trust he has in Dani.
If it sounds like I'm putting Chunyoung down, that's not my intent. The juxtaposition of Chunyoung and Jiho's respective interactions with Dani is to highlight each other's traits. Chunyoung is more impulsive while Jiho is the cautious and careful type. In this situation, Jiho's approach may seem better because his response is more measured, but you'll see how each trait of theirs can be either a strength or a fault, depending on the circumstances. Maybe when we get to season 3 or 4... Whenever that is. It'll make more sense then.
I actually enjoy how the author
sets them up as foils from the get-go and gradually builds upon every difference, layer by layer. Their points of contrast actually have some weight to them rather than being superficial like a lot of examples in this genre/demographic.
