Lmao I can't help but think that this is a joke straight out of a sitcom, dude just absolutely forgot to watch the road for an entire minute.

Oh... I was expecting a DUI, then author threw a curve ball....

Dude!, how can one relieve her guilt when first, there´s no guilt to atone for and second she feels she has all the guilt

Tell her she had a tiny bit of guilt (she didn´t), then you validate what she feels and all her suvivor´s guilt gets amplified

Tell her she had no guilt and then you don´t understand and she builds her walls again

Tell her that her dad was at fault... and now the walls have cannons aiming at you

I corrected it by saying that it is absolutely not her fault whatsoever.
Whether her guilt is natural or not is another matter.
I mean what i said in a cosmic sort of way, the reason they suddenly left the party was because she drank herself sick.
Do i think that's right feeling guilty and/or taking the blame for something like this? No.
But it doesn't change the fact that this likely wouldn't have happened had she not done it.

Maybe, however in that case you can put the blame on the brother or father. The dad could’ve not brought her to the party or just looked at the road instead of arguing while driving and the brother could’ve looked after her and prevented her from drinking.

I understand that what you mean because from her perspective she can justify her self-loathing by arguing that it wouldn’t have happened if she didn’t drink. I just feel like apart from her internal justifications and blame it’s irrelevant, anyone could be implicated or at fault if you twist the perspective enough. I wouldn’t say I disagree, I just think it’s irrelevant.

Considering this memory is not only skewed from the alcohol but also from the likely concussion from the T-bone collision. Yeah a lot of mental scarring. Also due to the severity of the crash could easily make escape very difficult without outside assistance and specialty tools like the jaws of life.

I knew someone that exclusively drove with his knees. My friend's Dad only drives drunk because he's always drunk or high and always drives over the speed limit. Some people just don't care.
