"That would be your fate had I not tampered with it"
Tampered with it by...not doing the thing?
Yeah, that confused me, too. I can't tell what the "it" is referring to: the ex's "fate", or the ofuda she was holding, which is apparently the "wrong ofuda."

... But I don't know for what, exactly. For warding off spider-lady, I assume, but the dialogue makes it sound like the ofuda and the ex's cheating are somehow connected.

In any case, Ms. Spider prevented Ms. Ex from being trisected either by (1) holding herself back, (2) tampering with her fate some other way, or (3) tampering the ofuda which would have caused the fate if she'd left it alone.

I dunno. Chapter is great; this dialogue is confusing.

Wonder what the powers of spider-wife actually are. Seems like it is more than just webs and monstrous physique as this chapter demonstrates.
Spiders behind your eyes, though.:fml:

Three dudes, three slices. Mayhap she would've been killed by one or more of her boyfriends eventually for her cheating ways. Not that unrealistic ending for a harlot.

I don't think it's a good idea to let her leave. Sure, people aren't going to trust a person about "that woman is a literal monster", and go pick up torches and pitchforks. But what if there's someone out there who does dabble in tracking down monster people and hears of it?

Oof why would she cut off that finger. I always feel bad about characters that have things amputated, even if they 'deserve it'. I hope she gets like a spider finger replacement or something.

Some what disappointed that poison was actually only stored in her finger. Biologically and realistically, it doesn't make sense.
But we're dealing with spider yokai, so realism was never an option...or at least a complete option (since spider facts like eating the male after sex, caffeine drunkness and molting were actually realistic).
But now I have to ask: why not "mind attack" her directly the first time? Scare the living shit out of her and getting rid of the trash early...

Add me to the list of people who are confused by the last page's "this would've been your fate if I didn't tamper with it" line.

Also, am I the only one who noticed that the tiny spiders inexplicably disappeared after the first page? What's going on?

The tiny spoders were illusions. Part of her repertoire has always been illusion magic (like how she transforms to human form and back). The fate thing was likely "Your fate was I was going to kill you but I held back."
