I think when she said "your femur is turned into powder" is what SHE did to him to fix him, not that it was still powder from the accident.

Since he has his eyes covered and such, she is just explaining what she is doing while she is doing it.

His femur is powder... but he can stand just fine? That's not really something you can just do physio for. Is also not something the hospital would just leave as is without putting in pins and plates to reinforce one of the most important bones in your body.

... How can he even walk at all if his femurs have been turned to "powder"? That's not how anatomy works in the least. To be able to stand and walk unsupported like we see him do, he has to have all the long bones of his legs intact enough that they won't break under the weight of his body.

Honestly, it would've made much more sense if his debilitating injuries were to joints in his legs, specifically damaging the cartilage instead of the bones, as those are notoriously very slow and limited in their healing, and so such injuries are usually lifelong and seriously limit how much physical stress the person can risk subjecting his legs to.
Possibly an exaggeration of how bad the break to the femur was; the femur is the single biggest bone in the body and from the sound of it he absolutely rumbled it. I'm imagining it breaking in several places, from how he described it being a catastrophic accident.
