Man, I must be slow, because I didn't even consider that the mom might be a ghost until reading the comments.

I had a feeling something was up after the last chapter and checked the comments after this one to see everybody's ideas. I also think the ghost theory makes most sense, but I'm really curious how it will play out. If they can convince the father (for example through revealing what the girlfriend really is), that the mother really is there, then we have a good setup for a really sweet moment 🥲
